Seven parishioners currently make up our St. Vincent DePaul Society Conference. The Conference Vincentians meet the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7pm. The ministry work involves meeting with people living within the Conference boundaries in their homes who have called for assistance. They pray with them and assist in the payment of rent and utilities, give JayC/Kroger food cards when food is needed and issue vouchers to the St. Vincent De Paul stores for clothing, shoes, furniture and other household items as is needed by their clients.
The Venetians also educate clients about other resources available in the community such as the Trustee, Salvation Army, food pantries, St. Joe the Worker, etc. In their 2017 fiscal year, SVdP logged 120 hours of service to complete 40 home visits and make six phone contacts, assisting 124 people at a cost of $12,411.
Time Commitment: 2 hours every month plus home visit time, if needed.
