Confirmation is a process, not just another program. We invite you to explore your relationship with Jesus, your Catholic faith, and learn to articulate and share it with others. Check out the questions below.
Are you wanting to grow in a relationship with Jesus?
Are you ready to take ownership of your Catholic faith?
Are you ready for the process of Confirmation to be the start of a lifelong commitment?
Are you ready to dig deeper into Scripture and Church teaching?
Are you ready to grow in your prayer life?
Are you ready to commit yourself to Sunday Eucharist?
Are you open to the Holy Spirit working in your life?
Are you at a place where you can share and discuss your relationship with Jesus and your faith? -
If you answered yes to any of these questions, We invite you to explore the Process of Confirmation
We're excited that you're ready to take the next step! In the spirit of accompaniment, we will be walking through this process with you.
When ready, youth submit a letter to Father Tom expressing their interest in being confirmed.
First up is to explore and participate our youth ministry events. Events are posted on our parish website and social media. For more information contact Katie Tipker, ktipker@stjohnpaulparish.org. Next up is to explore and attend an Alpha Youth! Find out more here.
Next, select a Faith Companion to journey with you. A Faith Companion is more than a sponsor and should be someone who:
- Is a Confirmed Catholic, actively practicing their Catholic faith
- Is someone who you are comfortable sharing and talking with
- Has a faith you aspire to have and will help you grow in yours
- Available to explore the service aspect of the process with you
- Will continue to journey with you after being Confirmed
Be sure to include the name of the person, their relationship to you and why you chose them as your Faith Companion in your letter to Fr Tom (See next step).
Email your attached letter to Father Tom at tclegg@stjohnpaulparish.org with "Confirmation Letter" as the subject. The letter should answer the following questions:- What do you think Confirmation is?
- What do you like about your parish?
- What's your favorite Bible story that involves Jesus and why?
- Where have or where do you see God in your life?
- How often do you go to mass (when and where)?
- Identify and select a Faith Companion, share their name, relationship to you, and why you chose them as your Faith Companion.
- Don't forget to put your name, grade, and school.
